Correspondence with the Unit is by e-mail only, with the investigator assigned to your case, from a majorcaseunit.org address. If you have received a message from an investigator, reply to that message.
The Unit does not maintain a public telephone line and does not take reports by telephone. For an emergency, call your local emergency number. To report a crime, contact your local police department or sheriff's office.

Media inquiries are answered in writing through the partner agency handling the case. See News Releases.
Verification of correspondence
Official correspondence from the Unit is sent only from addresses ending in @majorcaseunit.org, carries the name of the investigator, the field office and a case reference. Report any message that does not meet these conditions to the agency of jurisdiction.
