The Major Case Unit provides investigative support to county sheriff's offices and municipal police departments on cases that exceed local resources: homicides, disappearances, serial offenses and cases crossing county lines.
The Unit does not replace the agency of jurisdiction. It works alongside it, at its request, until the case is closed or handed back. Investigators are assigned to a field office near the agency they support.
If you have received a message from a member of this Unit: reply to that message only, and do not forward evidence images. Report any message claiming to come from this Unit that does not originate from the majorcaseunit.org domain.
